If you have 1 minute could you help me out? Pretty please???
This photo of my three punks is currently in 3rd place in a photo contest that ends in 3 days. First prize wins $200 towards Zin Frames and 2nd place wins $50. I am sooooo close to being in 2nd place. I would LOVE to win 1st but I would settle at this point for 2nd. The frames are pretty pricey but oh so cool! I really would love to frame this portrait huge and hang it up in my dining room.

The times are a changin'

It seems like things are starting to change a lot around here. The punks are growing up so fast. It feels like every day lately some big milestone has been reached.

-Punk 1 is officially heading off to full day Kindergarten in the fall. Who would have ever thought I would see a day where I didn't have three little boys underfoot all day long!?!?!?

-We took apart the nursery that has been pretty much exactly the same for almost 7 years. This was a tough one for me. I cried a lot but Punk 2 was so sweet. He said, "Don't be sad Mom. You are getting new carpet!" :)

- The boys all got new "basketball" shoes this weekend. They are so funny about it. They LOVE showing off their new shoes and seeing how fast they can go in them.
-As of Saturday we no longer have a crib in the house. Major sad one for this mama who LOVES babies. Punk 3 got a toddler bed and I do have to admit that he looks adorable and so proud of himself sitting in it but I do miss that crib still.

I still need to do some major decorating in his room but it does look cute as a "big boy" room. :)

- Punk 1 and 2 left about an hour ago to head to IWU Wildcat Basketball camp for three days with their cousin. I can't believe they are old enough to do that kind of thing!!!!!

-Punk 3 and I are left here running errands for the day and then his cousin is coming to stay for two days. He is beyond excited!

- One thing hasn't changed. They still love farming. I am thankful for that. :)

Where has the time gone?

I am obviously way behind on blogging but in case you haven't heard yet the Tonagel family welcomed two new little ones 2 weeks ago. You can see their photos on my photography website at http://www.atonagelphotography.com/.
Congrats to Troy and Megan on the birth of Graham Matthew and Greg, Amy, Jace and Will on the addition of sister Allie Claire.
My boys love having more cousins!

Punk 1 ate his cracker jacks during the game...

this meltdown is brought to you by Punk 2. He claims he is upset b/c his older brother ate his cracker jacks during his soccer game. In reality he is crying hysterically b/c his team lost and he was the only one to score any goals.
Competitive? uhh... yea. just slightly.
Oh and in other news... who would have ever guessed Cabana Boy would have to coach soccer one day? Soccer!?!?!?!?! His coaching career is off to a rocky start. :)

peace out.

Future Farmer Photoshoot

Punk 1 stylized this photoshoot. Shocker. I know. :)

I made this sign to sit out by our driveway when the boys are playing. I wanted to get one of those hideous "kids at play" safety signs just to remind the farmers that the boys are there. But they are so hideous. So... I made an equally obnoxious one but at least a little more personal. :)

Punk #1 asked for this photo on their 4 wheeler in front of their tree fort. He said they needed to have a serious face because that is what country boys do. I think we may let them listen to too much Luke Bryan.

I love watching Punk 3 on his 4-wheeler. It cracks me up b/c he can barely reach the pedal. See how short his little legs are?

Daddy's home!!!!! Everyone goes running the minute we see his truck coming down the road.

Enjoy this crazy spring weather!

Prom

Cabana Boy and I love going to prom every year. Ok if I am honest I look forward to prom every year. Cabana Boy tolerates prom. He enjoys watching the kids have fun but stresses about it.
I seriously love going and just seeing the kids have SO MUCH FUN! The kids this year danced the whole night. There was hardly anyone sitting down and when they were it was just a few cooling off and taking a break. I love that they go and have a great time together. I also love looking at all the different dresses and suits. Such creativity and personality! No two alike!
Here are a few p.s. pics from the night... They had a photographer there to capture candid shots of everyone so I can't wait to see those. I danced the night away with some other teachers and a few students. After I danced to "Super Bass" by Niki Minaj Cabana Boy decided I should probably call it a night and head home to the sitters. :)

The kids send texts to the DJ and they display them on the walls. It was pretty cute. :) Apparently I have gained a reputation for dancing. I am so not a good principal's wife!!!!

I am apparently looking at someone else's camera.

Hope you all had a good weekend. I can't wait for prom next year. :)

Spittin' Mad (actually just crickets)

Last Saturday we piled in the ole' Swagger Wagon and headed to Purdue for the day. We met up with our cousins the Richards Family (see their blog on the right hand side.) Purdue was hosting Spring Fest which is home to the Black and Gold game (which got rained out) and Bug Fest. We walked around all afternoon in the pouring rain but had a great time checking out all the cool agricultural displays. You know I love me some farm land! :)

One of the best parts of the whole day was watching Punk 1, Cabana Boy, and cousins Nolan and Matt compete in the "Cricket Spitting Contest." Who came up with this concept is super weird in my opinion. But I have to admit it was pretty funny. But then again I didn't have an antenna or cricket leg stuck in my mouth.
So here are a few pics of the guys in action spitting their crickets in the pouring rain.

And now for the real show...
Matt had been waiting for this day for the past year. He wanted to see if he could beat his distance from last year.
So... he planted his feet.

Took a deep breath to focus.

Got last minute advice from the college kids.

Pulled back while keeping good form...

and let her fly!

Awhh... not as good as last year. But we determined that a lot of factors go into cricket spitting. The rain, the wind speed and direction, the amount of time you let the cricket soak up spit in your mouth... There is a real science to this stuff.
Next year Matt. Next year. :)

I missed Cabana Boy for the most part b/c I was laughing so hard at Matt. I think he is picking a leg off of his tongue in this picture.

Cabana Boy apparently has another job. Setting spitting records! So weird!!!!

And now they are sampling "Meal Worm Stir Fry". Blahh..... so gross!

Poor Liam! He doesn't even know what he is eating! yuck!

Punk 1 milking a cow.

All the cousins holding hissing cockroaches, millipieds (sp?) and a tarantula.

Thanks Richards for a wonderful day!
